The Annual Raj Manek Banquet
Each year, the Raj Manek Mentorship Program features a large-scale, city-wide banquet of 250 to 350 guests to recognize the contributions of our mentors, celebrate the many accomplishments of our protégés, and to honour the “Above and Beyond Award recipient.
Open to the entire business community and featuring a keynote speaker prominent in the business world, it is one of the city’s premiere events for appreciation and networking. Past keynote speakers include Arlene Dickinson (CEO and Venture Communications), Sean O'Dea (Founder of Second Cup), John Stanton (CEO of Running Room), and Vikram Vij (Restaurant Owner and Dragon's Den Co-Star).
Also announced at this event is the recipient of the Raj Manek Memorial Prize in Entrepreneurship Award at the Edwards School of Business and the winning team of the Business Simulation Exercise from the Business Certification Program, where Raj Manek was a lecturer.
The evening, held at one of Saskatoon's prestigious venues, is emceed by our Board Member Paul Martin of Martin Charlton Communications. It is the Program’s only fundraising event of the year.

THE 20TH ANNUAL RAJ MANEK BANQUET FEATURES CHRISTINE MAGEE, CO-FOUNDER AND CHAIR OF SLEEP COUNTRY CANADA
Christine Magee is the Co-founder and Chair of Sleep Country Canada, the largest retailer of mattresses in Canada, providing outstanding in-store and home delivery service from over 240 corporate-owned stores in 17 regional markets.
Over the years, Christine has taken on an active role in mentoring students through her involvement with Ivey School of Business, 20 Under 20, working with young professionals through Women’s Executive Network. Christine is a Honorary Chairperson for the Hamilton YWCA, and proud member of the Selection Committee for YWCA – Women of Distinction – 2009.
